This review will be relatively short because the content of this DVD is exactly what the title promises . . . grappling drills.

There are 83 grappling drills listed on the DVD but a few of them seem to be “extras”, but don’t take that as a condemnation of the product. I love this DVD and use drills from it on a regular basis when I teach; however, I happen to feel that “Technique Repetition” and a couple of the other chapters listed as drills would have been more suitably presented as “suggestions” or “ideas”.

Another thing that lowered the overall score for Grappling Drills was the “Did you want to watch it again (immediately)” question. Honestly, you won’t want to watch this DVD multiple times in a row (which I did with my last Fabio Gurgel DVD) and this DVD isn’t designed to make you want to watch it several times in a row. This is a resource DVD and as a resource it is very, very valuable.

I definitely recommend Grappling Drills for the value it delivers and the long-term improvements it can bring to your game if you use it as the tool it was designed to be.
